Breakdance : Windmills

WINDMILLS

Every aspiring breaker worldwide takes on the physical beating and mental frustration of mastering the Windmill. Windmills are not only thought of as fundamental but as a transitional movement. The breakdancer will start in a basic floor pose (stab pose), and push through to a straddle position with his legs while spinning on the back, shoulders, and neck.

Many variations of the Windmills have been created since its debut in the 80’s b-boy scene. Nowadays, you will rarely see an advanced b-boy use the classic windmill as a solo power move. Instead, you will see variances that involve no-hands, spinning solely of the head, or even differences in leg positioning.
