Breakdance : Backspin

BACKSPIN

The Backspin is probably the most recognizable breakdance move ever. It is often executed after a 6-step or some type of power moves that is momentum based. Most every music video in the 80’s trademarked this movement and cardboard was the surface of choice. As much as it seems like a simple step to learn, the Backspin is often difficult to master since it does involve quite a bit of balance on a breakdancers back.

To gain more momentum, a breakdancer will gradually put his legs in tight; as an ice skater would do to perform more turns or pirouettes.
