The Air Flare is possibly the most advanced power move
to date. A b-boy will use similar body motions and
momentum as seen in Flares and Windmills. While this
move is executed, only the hands are on the floor
while the body and torso whips around in a circular
motion. The breaker’s legs will be in a “V” position
while he jumps from one hand to another creating an
inverted windmill effect.
This move takes great balance and strength to perfect.
There are several variations of the Air Flare ranging
from elbow positions to the more advanced one-arm Air
Flares. Munch Air Flares are becoming even more
popular which involves the breaker putting their legs
in a squat position rather than the standard “V”
shape.
The following are some fundamentals to master before
trying the Air Flare:
- Handstands
- Swipes
- Flares
- 1990s
- Windmills
Other variations of the Air Flare are:
- One-Arm Air Flare
- Munch Air Flare
- Lotus Air Flare
- Elbow Air Flare
- Blind Air Flare
