Breakdance : 6-Step
6-STEP
The 6-step or Shuffle is a fundamental breakdance sequence that involves footwork and shuffling of the legs. The sequence originated in six steps, but now has evolved into shorter variations like the 5-step. The b-boy will start in a grounded position while he moves his legs and body in a circular motion around himself. It is a considered a style element in which the breakdancer will use the rhythm of the music to lead the sequencing of his feet.
The combination of steps a b-boy uses in his 6-Step or Downrock ranges from slides, legs sweeps, footwork, and threads. The 6-step is a cornerstone breakdance move in which it is used to transition out of power moves or solely used to “burn” and stylize a breakdancers set.
